Warhammer 40K: Kill Team – Aeldari Kill Team Rules Preview
Games Workshop has opened the flood gates on the rules for the Aeldari Kill Teams. Let’s see what they are up to in the new edition.
Yesterday we got a look at the non-Space Marine Imperial Kill Teams and today it’s the Aeldari’s turn. From the Craftworld Kill Teams to the Drukhari, and every Aeldari raider/pirate in between! Here come the Aeldari to the new edition of Kill Team.
Each team has its own Faction Rule, specialised Equipment, and Ploys, representing the many approaches the Aeldari take to war. We’ve pulled upon the skeins of fate to conjure an overview of the Aeldari Kill Teams available at launch, and how they do battle.
We’re just going to focus on the faction rules and the operative cards that are teased. But GW has even more details about these Kill Teams in their article (link above).
Corsair Voidscarred
The big advantage of the Voidscarred is their extra Dash action they get for free as well as their Rifles which get Accurate 1 if they haven’t Charged, Fallen Back, or Repositioned…yet. This seems like a pretty straightforward plan of getting into position to unload and then dashing off to cover to avoid return fire.
Blades of Khaine
This Kill Team is very deadly mainly because you can opt to take different Aspect Warriors. Above you can see the Striking Scorpions as one option. And below are the Howling Banshees.
“Each Aspect Warrior can access five different Aspect Techniques which set them apart in battle. The Merciless Strikes of the Striking Scorpions confer SHOCK – the first Critical Success in an attack sequence forces your opponent to discard an unresolved Success.”
Hand of the Archon
The Hand of the Archon is yet another deadly and specialized Kill Team that’s ready to assassinate their targets. Power from Pain is back again for the Drukhari as well and this lets you build tokens which can then be spent to enhance your Drukhari warriors even more.
Mandrakes
And finally we have a quick look at the Mandrakes. These umbral creatures attack from the Shadows in devastating ways. Some of their weapons have the deadly Soulstrike special rule and flip the script on attacks where 1s become critical successes.
The new edition of Kill Team is quickly approaching. Are you ready for the Aeldari to launch their attacks in all their forms?
