Star Wars: Legion – Rebel Sleeper Cell Unboxing
The Rebel Sleeper Cell is coming to Star Wars: Legion. We’re taking a look inside the new box and seeing what plans they have.
When it comes to conflicts the Rebels vs the Galactic Empire really is an uphill fight for the Rebellion. They have less people, materials, and just overall resources to wage a “typical” war. That’s why they don’t. The Rebel Sleeper Cell is a new unit coming to the game that represents a group that has been activated to come to battle. Atomic Mass Games sent us a copy of the box and we’re taking a look at the contents.
Rebel Sleeper Cell Unboxed
The insides are pretty much what you’d expect from a Star Wars: Legion product:
What’s nice about the Rebel Sleeper Cell is that AMG has moved production over to the harder plastic sprues as you can see. They also include the same bases as well as tokens and cards for the unit.
We’ve already done breakdown of their rules as well. So if you want a deeper dive check that article out. The summary of this unit is that they are pretty fast and can get to where you need them in the early stages of the game pretty quick. They can also hold those positions rather well with the Astromech upgrade and the Dodge token economy they have.
In terms of sprues, you can see those above. You get a pair of them in the box and that’s enough to build out the unit and the upgrades as well. I do like the material they used and I like the fact that you can do a lot of head-swap customization for this unit. However, I’ll be honest, they are all sorta bland — it’s just people in trench coats. I mean, it makes sense from a realism perspective. This is a Sleeper Cell and they are trying to blend in. The problem is as miniatures they all look kind of “flat” because of the coats and lack of any textures on them.
I think this is one of those cases where the hobbyist is going to have to do some work with their paint jobs to really make these miniatures pop. Individually, I think they do work. It’s just a big unit of them kinda makes them all blend in. I guess that’s why they are the Rebel Sleeper Cell!
he Rebel Sleeper Cell is currently up for pre-order and has a release date of October 18, 2024.
Star Wars: Legion – Rebel Sleeper Cell Unit Expansion $44.99
Rebel Sleeper Cells formed in secret across the galaxy to undermine the growing influence of Imperial rule. The effects of these cells are felt in countless ways, ranging from administrative headaches to large scale direct assaults on military targets. Regarded as experts in guerilla warfare, Sleeper Cells exploits various seams in established defenses to slip behind enemy lines and create the most chaos possible. Rebel Sleeper Cells are also creative and adaptable, armed with a variety of weapons, tools, and explosives to amplify their effects once revealed. This expansion for Star Wars: Legion contains 8 finely sculpted Sleeper Cell trooper miniatures, enough for one Special Forces unit, along with new unit and upgrade cards to surprise any adversary.
They aren’t the flashiest unit but they WILL get their mission done.
