Games Workshop: Warhammer Day Is Bringing On The Chaos
Things are about to get a little …Chaotic. Games Workshop has announced Warhammer Day for October 5th and the theme is heresy!
Mark your calendars and set your alarms. And maybe don’t tell your local Inquisitor about what’s going down on October 5th. Games Workshop is hosting a Warhammer Day 2024 Online preview. It’s time to hop directly into the warp because this one is all about CHAOS!
“This year is the year of Chaos, as evidenced by the Great Horned Rat joining the big leagues of the pantheon of Chaos Gods in Warhammer Age of Sigmar, finally rubbing shoulders with Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle as a fully-fledged Ruinous Power.”

This reveal is promising some big chaos news for everyone. What sorts of goodies can you expect? Well we’ve got a handy info graphic with all the time zones as well as which systems are going to get a nod:
We’ve got five systems on deck for some news:
- Warhammer 40,000
- Warhammer: Age of Sigmar
- Kill Team
- Legions Imperialis
- Warhammer Underwolds
This is pretty good news as it’s a follow-up to the road maps that were revealed. And, yeah, those were pretty lack-luster…So here’s hoping that we get some actual reveals this time around.
GW did mention (at least on the 40k road map) that there would be “special chaos treats” coming in 2025. What that means is anyone’s guess. Hopefully we’ll get something good from the preview. That said, it doesn’t look like Chaos is on deck for a new codex or anything based on the ones listed from the Road Map…
As far as the AoS side of the house, we know Slaves to Darkness is after the Stormcast Eternals. So the chaos invasion isn’t too far off, especially if that’s slated to happen before the end of the year.
Kill Team’s new edition just dropped for Pre-order this past weekend. I’m sure we’ll see more info about warbands and such for them, too. Fingers crossed we see more Chaos Kill Teams like the Nemesis Claw box…
As far as Legions Imperialis? We’re going in blind on that one other than “MORE TANKS.” I did see some rumors about the Mechanicum army getting the LI treatment soonish. We’ll see if that pans out.
As far as the Warhammer Underworlds goodies, did anyone notice the logo go an updated? New season coming soon? We’ll have to wait and see for that one.
