A new “premium map collection” from Beadle & Grimms will bring the Dungeon Master’s Guide to life – by revealing some of the new maps in the upcoming book.

Purveyors of fine tabletop accessories and luxury box sets, Beadle & Grimms, announced a new “map vault,” the Dungeon Master’s Guide: Premium Maps Collection. This collection of 30 maps takes battle maps from the upcoming 5.5E Dungeon Master’s Guide and transforms them into full-color renditions, thanks to B&G’s collaboration with several notable mapmakers in the community.

Beadle & Grimm’s Dungeon Master’s Guide: Premium Map Collection

This boxed set is more of a vault than a box. It comes in a magnetic-close box with a book-style opening and captures 30 of the battle maps from the appendices of the Dungeon Master’s Guide. But it’s not just a collection of printouts; they commissioned three different mapmakers to turn these into full-color versions.

“B&G has commissioned Moonlight Maps, The Voyager’s Workshop, and Stinky Goblin to create full-color realizations of the black and white maps provided in the appendix of the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide. Epic battles deserve epic battle maps, and these large maps are gridded for mini use.”

Along with the full-color battle maps, you also get two canvas maps. B&G calls them area maps, I call them the kinds of maps you get when you buy a video game years ago and that you now pay extra for when buying a collector’s edition of a video game.

They’re of Greyhawk, specifically the City of Greyhawk and Eastern Oerik. These are 21×30 and will endure whatever horrors you can throw at them. Finally, you get a full-color DM Screen, which is also Greyhawk-themed. That can be a plus or a minus, though. It is full of the kinds of setting details you’d want, but it is Greyhawk, so if you’re not playing there, it might not be the best DM screen for your group. But it still has all the updated 5.5E DMG info.

You can preorder the collection below; expect it in December 2024 for early orders.
