Goatboy here with the best of the best Kill Team 5 boxes/units to pick up to build your new 40K army.

We got another release showing up that will affect 40k.  The new Killteam sets are going to give us access to units that were initially part of a boxed release.  These little mini releases give armies some new units to play with and usually a lot of utility power for the armies.  Kill Team is all about a smaller unit size of specialists doing some mission stuff.  They are normally for units that are bit tricksy, a bit utilitarian, and designed to cause mayhem instead of just sheer brutality.  This means most of these units have some movement tricks, abilities to hide, and just giving your 40K army an option to blunt assaults, get on objectives early, or just be a lot harder to deal with.

5. Kill Team: Scout Squad

The good ole updated Scouts are an important part of the Space Marine toolkit.  The Scouts have the ability to Infiltrate and Scout (of course) which lets them get to places faster or just block movement a heck of a lot easier.  Do you need to blunt those World Eaters from getting into your lines?  Throw some Marine Scouts up, make sure they move off of an objective to not give up an easy secondary, and watch as your World Eater player has to figure out how to push their assault back a few turns.

4. Kill Team: Mandrakes

Hey remember how powerful the ability to jump in the air and redeploy is for a 40K army?  These guys are the OG’s of this type of power move from the Dark Eldar handbook.  Do you need some guys to show up and grab that objective someone left unattended?  How about scoring one of those Behind Enemy Line objectives?  Mandrakes can do that and even be annoying to small simple squads that get in the way.

3. Kill Team: Stingwings

The newest Killteam from the Hivestorm box, this is going to be a powerful cheap little utility option for the T’au Empire armies.  Now you have the ability to have a 65 point redeploy unit that will show up in most T’au lists.  I know they can jump around as is’ but why waste a secondary mission on your murderous Suits when you can use some “controlled” wasp-people to get your job done.

2. Kill Team: Tempestus Aquilons

Who thought of giving Astra Militarum access to a unit that can pop down within 3”, clear a squad, and then if they get killed can easily come back for 2CP?  All in the same turn even!  This is pretty bonkers and probably one of the strongest things to come out for the Astra Militarum.  Tempestus Aquilons being able to come within 3” is pretty huge and just having some damage potential is powerful as heck.  All of this for very few points so go out and get some as soon as you can.

1. Kill Team: Hernkyn Yaegirs

The good old Leagues of Votann needed a way to help keep those pesky assault armies from getting too close to you.  They got it in this infiltrating little jerks that are very cheap, decently set up with weapons, and just ready to show up on the table top.  I know it was hard to get them for a bit and thankfully the Hernkyn Yaegirs will be there for their space dwarf friends.  I just love how they have cool little jackets. So stylish – I want one.
