There’s a new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop and this one isn’t hiding anything. That’s kind of the problem! What could it be?

Welcome to another Tuesday and a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This is another case of GW showing us exactly what the thing is and still not telling us anything about it. Here, take a look for yourself and you’ll see what I mean.

“Here we go, enough of that ‘mystery’ rubbish we’ve had for the past few weeks, we need something clear-cut and obvious to palate-cleanse the Rumour Engine. Some bullets in a premium display case, that’s what we’ve got here – no doubt about it. Rumour solved.”

Rumor Engine Rocket Reload

Solved indeed. Clearly it’s some sort of loading mechanism for a weapon. Are those bullets? I don’t know for sure! They remind me of the hellfyre missile racks on Thousand Son Terminators:

The difference is that these fire from their mounted position instead of needing to be loaded into a gun to be shot from. The Rumor Engine seems like those munitions could be either design. We also don’t know the scale of these weapons as this could be really zoomed in or “actual size” and those “bullets” could be that large. Basically, we’ve still got questions.

Personally, I think this belongs in the 40k universe but maybe that’s just another red herring and it’s from the Age of Sigmar side of things. Maybe this is some fancy new top loading weapon for the Kharadron Overlords. Or Cities of Sigmar? Is this even top loaded? What if GW rotated the image to throw us off? That’s been done before!

Anyone else remember these old school autocannons? I’m not 100% sure that these are the same. However, they are top loaded and they do seem very similar in design. That could be quite the twist! Oh and don’t we have some Death Korps of Krieg on the way?

Perhaps we’re looking at a teaser for their new Astra Militarum line. Wouldn’t that be something cool! Whatever the case, I’m sure we’ll find out what this Rumor Engine is …eventually. But for now, I’m turning this one over to you. If you’ve got any ideas drop us a line in the comments with your theory!

That autocannon theory is starting to stick…
