Are you looking for a vehicular wasteland or a cozy, peaceful way to play D&D? Either way, we’ve got it this week on Kickstarter.

Come check out this week’s batch of crowdfunding and Kickstarter highlights – including board games, RPGs, and STLs!

The Smurfs – A Smurfing Roleplaying Game!

Welcome to Peyo’s world of The Smurfs! These little blue creatures, three apples high, are a cultural phenomenon with numerous comics, graphic novels, tv shows, and movies dedicated to them. Now they will have their own tabletop roleplaying game! So, what in the smurf is a tabletop roleplaying game? You, the Player, get to take on the role of a Smurf in an immersive story. As a Smurf you will go on adventures, solve mysteries, and help those in need. Your Smurf can be a well-known Smurf or a unique Smurf of your own creation. In addition, a Storyteller takes on the role of describing the world and its challenges to you. So, you need at least two people to play.

Silos, Ego, Orbit – A Trilogy of Alien Conspiracy Board Games

While each title offers a standalone gameplay experience that can be enjoyed individually, they are all part of the same narrative and timeline. Together, these three sci-fi games span multiple centuries and form the Cosmic Silos Trilogy. This trilogy unfolds the conspiratorial story of an alien civilization secretly invading Earth and brainwashing humans (in SILOS), and then using the human race as their political pawns (in EGO) to help them eventually gain and maintain supreme control of the galaxy (in ORBIT).

With Reiner Knizia and four of the finest artists in the industry (Kwanchai Moriya, Marie Bergeron, Vincent Dutrait, and Brigette Indelicato), we’ve set out to craft an epic, big-box, sci-fi adventure trilogy. This ambitious Kickstarter campaign represents a mega celebration of all things board games featuring three massive games created by legends of the industry.

Argo-0 – Tabletop RPG Inspired by Greek Myths, Retro Cartoons, and Classic Anime

Argo-0 (Argonaut) is a Tabletop Role-playing Game that combines Ancient Greek mythology, beloved 80s cartoons like Ulysses 31 and classic Anime such as Mobile Suit Gundam. The nostalgic vibes and aesthetics of Argo-0 were always something we wanted to explore at Hatchlings Games, and we’re confident this will resonate with experienced and beginner RPG enthusiasts alike!

Argo-0 uses the Paragon system by John Harper and Sean Nittner, the foundation for RPGs such as AGON and—most recently—Deathmatch Island by Old Dog Games. These light and intuitive rules perfectly support the cinematic storytelling and thrilling encounters we wanted to explore with this RPG.

Draconis – A Peaceful Way to Play D&D 5E

WHAT IS A PEACEFUL VERSION OF DND?
We’ve adapted the 5e system so that it serves the poetic purpose of Draconis, and allows for a style of play centered on the pleasure of discovery, understanding others, and pacifism.
These rules allow for a wide range of situations and game tones, and are sufficiently adaptable to meet the multiple challenges posed by Draconis’ benevolence.

The use of violence will have moral and social consequences for the characters. These are emphasized in the book and the scenarios, both by the mechanics and the storytelling.

There are different game modes to choose from (with options that can be combined at the leader’s discretion), thanks to a modular system developed in the tradition of Fateforge and Shadows of Esteren. Innocence mode focuses on pure pacifism, combat rules are not used, nor are attack spells. You can, for example, include darker themes, such as melancholy, fear or regret, by selecting the Black heart options.
