LEGO doesn’t keep Batman and Marvel sets around forever. Here are the best sets on their 2024 retirement list—pick them up while you still can!

DC Sets Retiring: Batcave

This 3,981-piece brick-built Batcave comes with a bunch of screen-inspired details. You can hang out in the control center with a changing main computer screen, check out the armory, and store an extra Batsuit in an illuminated vault. When the shadow box is closed, you can see all of these elements through the Batman emblem.

The display wouldn’t be complete without a Batmobile. The 1989 model seats a minifig and has two hidden launchers. Minifigs include Max Shreck, The Penguin, Catwoman, two versions of Batman (one with a fabric cape), Alfred Pennyworth, and Bruce Wayne.

Marvel LEGO Sets Retiring: Hulkbuster

The oldest of the Marvel LEGO sets retiring this year. The full-sized Hulkbuster has over four thousand pieces and stands over twenty inches tall when constructed. It’s got a ton of detail for a brick build with its red and gold color scheme, articulated joints, and accessible cockpit that fits the LEGO kid’s version of Iron Man inside. It has a light brick in its chest and each hand to power the Hulkbuster’s light-up repulsors. The set also includes an information plate and a Tony Stark minifigure.

  • 4,049 pieces pieces
  • The cockpit opens and can house Iron Man 76206 (sold separately)
  • 20.5 in (52 cm) high, 18.5 in (47 cm) wide and 9.5 in (24 cm) deep

Looking for something smaller? These Hulkbuster sets are also retiring this year: The Battle of Wakanda (76247) and Iron Man Hulkbuster vs. Thanos (76263).

DC Sets Retiring: Batman’s Tumbler

This UCS-like version has around 200 more pieces than the retired 2014 kit and is physically larger (it’s a full 2 inches longer). This new version has a roof that opens and allows access to the seats and control panel, as well as a sturdy display stand. The Tumbler is larger than minifig scale, but it does come with a Batman and Joker from The Dark Knight for a complete fan display.

  • 2,049 pieces
  • 6″ (16 cm) high, 17″ (45 cm) long, 9″ (25 cm) wide

Marvel LEGO Sets Retiring: The Nano Gauntlet

DC Sets Retiring: Technic Batcycle

Before the Batmobile was road-ready, Bruce Wayne favored a motorcycle to get him around Gotham. It’s a much more stealthy option, based on the café racers of the 1960s. This cycle includes steering, suspension, and a chain drive that connects the articulating H4 engine to the back wheel. There’s also a kickstand for easy display.

  • 641 pieces
  • 6.5 in. (16 cm) high, 13 in. (33 cm) long and 4.5 in. (11 cm) wide

Marvel LEGO Sets Retiring: Endgame Final Battle

This set offers a wealth of creative, screen-inspired elements. It comes with seven character mini-figures, including Captain Marvel, Okoye, Wanda Maximoff, Shuri, Valkyrie, Thanos, and The Wasp.

The action unfolds (literally, the set opens once built) within the ruins of the Avengers’ compound. The battleground is designed with various spots to attach the minifigs, and it hides easter eggs for builders to uncover, such as Captain America’s shield, Thor’s hammer, the time stone, and the portal-opening rat.

I Am Groot – This little guy is made of 467 pieces and ten and half inches tall. His limbs are articulated, making him great for display and play. It even comes with a brick built version of one of Quill’s  cassette tapes. A fun afternoon build you can do while listening to the GoTG soundtracks.

Venomized Groot – Inspired by Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom animated series. This set has 630 pieces you can build into an eleven-inch tell articulated figure. Groot’s transformation includes Venom’s familiar long tongue, sharp teeth, tentacles, and large white eyes.
