A new developer chat invites us all to learn the horrifying truths of ogre audio design in a preview of the upcoming Warhammer 3 expansion.

The new Total War: Warhammer 3 expansion is all about destruction. With the Ogre Kingdoms, Khorne Legions, and, of course, everyone’s favorite greenskins, the Orcs, at the heart of the forthcoming DLC, fans are excited.

And a new devlog features a chat with Total War: Warhammer 3 developers as they dive into what makes them so visceral. Turns out, it’s yogurt. And bones. Look, just watch the video.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Devlog Showcases The Power Of Yogurt

You know, this isn’t the first time yogurt has been used in a video game. If you believe the stories, the Murloc sound from World of Warcraft is apparently Tracy Bush gargling yogurt into a microphone. Whether or not that’s true or is just a Blizzard urban legend doesn’t really matter, though. Because we have this…

But it’s not all just noisily munching yogurt out of a bowl. There’s also a jangling of “ethically sourced bones” that I don’t want to speculate about.

We also get a look at some of the upcoming characters. Here’s a list of folks we know are going to appear in the upcoming DLC. Ogre Kingdoms feature two big Maneaters, Eshin Maneater and Golgfag Maneater. As well as an Ogre Paymaster, Blood Vultures, Gnoblar Pigback Riders, Yhetees, and the Thundertusk.

Orcs will see the triumphant appearance of Gorbad Ironclaw, joined by Snagla Grobspit, the Savage Orc Great Shaman, Night Goblin Big Boss, the Colossal Squig, and Black Orcs with Shields.

And on the Khorne side of things, it’s so many skulls for the skull throne, starting with Skulltaker, Skarr Bloodwrath, Scyla Anfingrimm, Arbaal the Undefeated, Khorngors, and the Slaughterbrute.

That’s all just to start with, of course. If past DLCs are anything to go by, we’re sure to see more in the coming days. So keep an eye out! The new DLC doesn’t have a release day yet, but as more details start to coalesce, it’s bound to be any day now.

Now I’m hungry for yogurt.
