Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Five Characters We Want From The MCU

Marvel: Crisis Protocol doesn’t have a lack of characters. But adding these five would tie-in nicely to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marketing is a heck of a thing. And free marketing is even better. Disney is a powerhouse of media and when they acquired Marvel and started cranking out MCU properties they basically started printing money. Well…maybe up until the last batch (Deadpool & Wolverine was the outlier). Anyhow, I’m not here to debate MCU or fan burnout or quality — I’m here to talk about some tie-in characters that Marvel: Crisis Protocol could “borrow” from the MCU!

Monica Rambeau – aka Photon

She’s technically already in the game — as a character on card art. Monica Rambeau has had other names in the comics, but since we’re pulling from the MCU for this list, I’m going with Photon. I’m not 100% sure what the MCU is planning to do with her character. And I’m not going to spoil things from the movies. I’m just going to reiterate that she would be a cool character to have on the tabletop in MCP!

John Walker, U.S. Agent

So John Walker has certainly had quite the run in the MCU so far. I think The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series did a good portraying this character as complicated and conflicted, too. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with him next, too. I also think that as a character from the Marvel Comics he’s an interesting one.

U.S. Agent is really a guy at odds with himself. He’s a darker, more brutal version of Captain America. Maybe he’s a bit more a mirror to the country than the ideal that is Captain America. Alas, I really just want a version of him on the tabletop in MCP.

Yelena Belova, AKA White Widow

I’m not going to talk too much about Yelena Belova. Go watch the Black Widow movie and the Hawkeye series on Disney+. She’s really a scene stealer and I think a lot of that is because Florence Pugh nails his character. She’s just fun to watch on screen. Pugh seems like she’s having a lot of fun playing this character and it comes across on the screen. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Yelena can bring some of that “younger sibling” energy into MCP!

Kate Bishop, AKA Hawkeye

via Disney+

I think that Kate Bishop would be a cool addition to MCP as well. Hawkeye brings a surprising amount of utility as a threat 3 character. He’s just got that constant *plink* of damage from his Arrow Shot. I think Kate Bishop could also fill a similar role but without cramping the O.G. Hawkeye’s space. To be fair, Hawkeye (Clint Barton) could probably use an update or some other abilities…which is where a Kate Bishop version could stand out.

Red Hulk

I really don’t think this is a spoiler considering the poster for Captain America: Brave New World. Regardless, I’m biased here — I really want a Red Hulk in the game already. Thaddeus Ross as Red Hulk brings the pain the comics and gives Hulk a run for his money. His powers also work differently than Hulk — although he still gets PLENTY mad. Whatever they do with him in the MCU, I’m just hoping he shows up in MCP!

C’Mon Atomic Mass Games, make these characters! It’s basically free marketing from Disney.
