The Space Wolves are getting a new unique Legion Consul. Meet the Caster of Runes! He swears he’s not a psyker through.

When you’ve got to tell everyone that your powers aren’t from the Warp, but rather from “the heart of Fenris” you’re going to get some odd looks. But the Horus Heresy was a different time and apparently they were okay with “magic runes” being used. But I’m not going to argue with a Space Marine Consul — and definitely not a Space Wolf at that.

“The Caster of Runes is a unique Legion Consul for the Space Wolves. He uses complex Fenrisian Rituals to control an ethereal power that he insists comes not from the Warp – but deep from the heart of Fenris. Their armour and wargear, which are adorned with runes and shamanistic artefacts, only reinforce this notion.

Some might call it hypocrisy for members of the VI Legion to wield psychic power in such a manner, but these particularly hard-bitten sons of Russ would not hear those protests over the roaring Winds of Fenris. “

Look, he can call it whatever he wants. I still have issues from the Jaws of the World Wolf days. I learned a long time ago to not argue with a Space Wolf about their space magic. Just crack them on the nose and yell “Bad Dog!” and move on.

I do like the angular features of the helmet and the runic armor is a nice touch. Unfortunately he’s not going to be a plastic kit. It’s coming in Forge World resin. Whomp-Whomp. That’s not uncommon for these types of special Consuls for the Space Marines in the Horus Heresy which is a bit of a bummer.

The good news is that the Space Wolves are getting some love in the Horus Heresy. And I suppose that’s what counts. Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s kind of a crazy day and there’s deals to be shopped. Good luck out there.

Maybe Ragnar was born on a Black Friday?!
