New ‘Total War: Warhammer 3’ Hotfix Makes Bloodbeasts Amazing, Fixes Splash Attacks
A quick hotfix from the Total War: Warhammer team addresses splash attacks as of today, making your big beasts better. And more is coming!
It is going to be a big week for Total War: Warhammer 3. Two hotfixes seem to be in the works after developers on the Creative Assembly team revealed that they were adjusting the planned hotfix schedule. Notably, with the immediate release of a new hotfix, live as of press time.
The hotfix was a priority release aimed at fixing “splash attack” issues as soon as possible, which it does. But though this hotfix was rolled out quickly, it seems like more tweaks are in the works now that the Omens of Destruction DLC is out in the wild.
Which, by the way, Omens of Destruction is out. It’s excellent, you should go give it a try. But here’s a look at the hotfix!
Total War: Warhammer 3 – Hotfix 6.0.1 Addresses Splash Attacks
If you’re not sure what splash attacks are, don’t worry; no liquid is necessary. Though, there may be plenty of liquid in the form of what was formerly your enemies. Splash attacks are attacks that hit large numbers of individual units. Often, these are for big guys making big swings.
In Omens of Destruction, splash attacks were changed for “single entity units,” IE, one really big guy. But other units were rolled up in the crossfire. Now that has been fixed, your monstrous cavalry and other units along those lines can get back to doing the world of good you need them to do.
“In 6.0.0 we made a change to the maximum number of targets a splash attack can hit based on a weapon strength ratio. This change was originally intended to apply to single entity units only and inadvertently was applied to monstrous infantry, cavalry, and infantry units. This caused a series of issues with how our splash attacks are calculated, we have reverted the changes to these units while maintaining the single entity splash attack changes.”
