‘Odyssey of the Wavejumper,’ ‘Pocket Wars,’ and More
This week Kickstarter has pocket sized adventure, Herculean feats, and a shipwreck on an island of terrors.
Come check out this week’s batch of crowdfunding and Kickstarter highlights – including board games, RPGs, and STLs!
Runecaster
Playing Runecaster will encourage you to think creatively about magic and science to create engaging narratives. Magic is full of unintended consequences and new discoveries. As a mage, you combine Runes to create unique and powerful spells that should best the challenges before you. The thing is, you are only a student, and magical Runes are cryptic.
Casting spells is a narrative back and forth between the players and the GMs. Magic is like a cracking a code. Magic is also like a student trying to figure out what they can get away with. Here’s how it works:
- Draw up to 3 of 9 possible runes
- Invoke your conduit. What do you use to cast magic and how does it influence the spell?
- Invoke your character. Who you are and what you’re good at (or not) impacts your magic!
- What is your reasoning? Magic can be driven by logic, emotions, or onomatopoeia
- Narrate! The player starts and the GM finishes, describing what actually happens when the runes come together
Lost Lumina
In the forests of Amanaar a gathering darkness is turning friends into foes! The Light of Amanaar are disappearing, and you must reclaim them before it’s too late.
Lost Lumina is a card drafting and area control game for two players, featuring 27 uniquely illustrated multi-use character cards, delightful meeples, and a beautifully illustrated map. It is a game full of tantalizingly tough decisions for players who enjoy exciting and surprising battles.
Odyssey of the Wavejumper
In the bustling port of Jadecliff Anchorage, the Wavejumper carries the dreams of 136 hopeful souls embarking on a month-long journey to the booming town of Two Forks, where whispers of a gold rush promise fortune and fame. But the voyage takes a dark turn as a violent storm and a monstrous sea creature tear the ship apart, casting the survivors onto the shores of Gravewake—a cursed island shrouded in mystery.
Here, the jungle thrums with danger, the dead refuse to rest, and two rival cults vie for dominion. Stranded and hunted, the heroes must uncover the island’s secrets, rally their fellow survivors, and find a way to escape Gravewake’s clutches before its dark power consumes them all.
