Games Workshop Pre-Orders: ‘Death Korps of Krieg’ Weekend
The Death Korps of Krieg are on the march to a tabletop near you. Their pre-orders are now live from Games Workshop.
There’s a new Army Box on the way from Games Workshop and it’s your first crack at the new Astra Militarum rules for 40k. Oh, and a whole bunch of new miniatures, too! It’s Death Korps time.
Personally, I think Lord Marshal Dreir has a cool miniature but I’m also partial to the new Artillery Team kit. I’m not quite sure which one I like more. Oh and don’t discount the new Battlefield Trophies box. Sure, it’s a box full of skulls…but there’s more to it than that! Let us know which kit is your favorite from the pre-orders this weekend.

Death Korps of Krieg – Astra Militarum Army Set $230
The Astra Militarum is the backbone of Imperial military might. They are the men and women holding the line – a bulwark between Humanity and a galaxy of nightmarish horrors. Amongst the Astra Militarum’s massed regiments, the dour Death Korps of Krieg are some of the most fabled. To these zealous adherents to the Imperial Creed, death in battle is an honour to be sought, not feared. Their armies are built with attrition in mind, forged to weather unrelenting enemy assaults and strike back with overwhelming force.
As is tradition in the armies of Krieg, Lord Marshal Varnan Dreir leads this force from the front atop his loyal steed, armed with a laspistol and sabre. Behind him rides a squad of ten Death Riders – bold cavalry who thunder across no man’s land with lances levelled and sabres drawn. Six Combat Engineers – demolition experts, sappers, and close-quarters trench fighters support them. They are tasked with clearing razorwire and defusing mines before bringing their shotguns and trench clubs to bear upon the enemy. Finally, an Artillery Team uses towed weapons to hurl various munitions capable of eliminating entire squads of infantry, cracking open reinforced bunkers, and laying waste to armoured convoys.
This box is also the first place to find the new Codex: Astra Militarum, a 168-page hardback book with an exclusive cover, equipping you with inspiring lore, updated rules, and epic artwork. The claiming of war trophies by victorious forces has been commonplace for millennia. While in centuries past, these souvenirs may have taken the form of flags, art, weapons, or other trinkets, in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium, the spoils of war are much more macabre.
Customise your miniatures with the contents of this morbid kit, featuring a huge variety of components that can be added to bases or used as narrative elements. This collection includes skulls – human, alien, and other – as well as severed heads, some still wearing the helmets of their previous owner. Also included are other grim tokens such as parts of servo skulls, and an – almost – complete fallen Space Marine.
