LEGO is teaming up with Netflix to create the first official One Piece sets with minifigs of the Going Merry crew.

It’s official: LEGO is making One Piece sets. Hopefully, they’ll have more than just one piece. Ha… ha… ha… okay… moving on. Fans can look forward to embarking on an adventure through the East Blue, where they’ll experience favorite moments and scenes from the Netflix live-action adaptation.

The sets will feature the main crew, as seen in the show, for the first time in LEGO minifigure form. I’m sure fans will be able to build the Going Merry in all its glory. I imagine other key places like Baratie, Arlong Park, and Cocoyasi Village will be included.

There are no photos of sets at this point. LEGO has released a short teaser and some exciting words about what we can expect from this new partnership.

This is a truly special collaboration. For the first time, LEGO play and the exciting world of anime meet. Building the world of ONE PIECE, as depicted in the Netflix live action adaptation, in LEGO brick form has been such an exciting challenge and I couldn’t be more excited for fans to experience the new adventures this ONE PIECE collaboration will bring them for the first time.

Throughout this project with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, it has been an exciting, collaborative process, and I think that shows in all the grand adventures we will begin to unveil soon.

I think both LEGO and One Piece fans agree sooner would be great.

LEGO’s Inspiration – One Piece

The series is based on Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga. It follows Monkey D. Luffy, a daring young pirate who dreams of finding the legendary One Piece treasure and becoming the King of the Pirates. On his quest, he gains steadfast friends and allies like Nami, Roronoa Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji – all join his crew. They encounter other pirates, bounty hunters, and other characters on the high seas. They must overcome these enemies using wit, cunning, and Luffy’s elastic powers.

The anime has over 1,000 episodes full of hijinks and adventure.

The first season of the live action series that’s the inspiration for the new sets is on Netflix now. There is no word on when fans can expect Luffy and crew to return in Season 2 (rumors are saying this year), but it’s been greenlit.
