The MCU is ramping up for the 2025 movie season. And there’s more than a few characters we want in MCP from the trailers.

We’re going to be diving into the MCU with a few of the trailers that have been released. These trailers have spoilers. But we need to talk about them. So consider this your warning.

Alright, so if you’re still here let’s talk about the character we want from the MCU trailers that we want to see join the tabletop in Marvel: Crisis Protocol!

Thunderbolts*

Okay, I wanted to start with this one because it’s goofy. And it’s got a lot of characters in this movie that aren’t in MCP yet. Plus, there’s a lot of returning characters from other movies so the spoilers are pretty light here. Except for one…

Anyhow, here’s a few of the characters that could get added:

  • John Walker, US Agent
  • Black Widow, Yelena Belova
  • Ghost
  • Sentry

US Agent is uh…kind of a twisted version of Captain America. If you’re familiar with his depiction in the MCU then it’s close enough to his comics version — at least in attitude. I think he’d be a good addition to MCP. If nothing else, all the characters in this movie could be part of the Thunderbolts affiliation (which would be a new affiliation, too).

Yelena Belova is another character to be a Black Widow. Sometimes called White Widow to differentate her from Natasha Romanoff, she’s got a very similar skill set. I really do think that her depiction by Florence Pugh is well done. It’s really hard not to root for her!

Ghost, aka Ava Starr, showed up in the MCU in Ant-Man and the Wasp. I’m glad she’s getting a second showing in a movie. Her character was a bit of a mystery and while that got solved in the movie, I felt like there was more story to tell there. Her origins in the comics are much different. Ghost was a hacker who created a battle suit that made them invisible and intangible. I think that could be a useful trait on the tabletop as a character!

The Sentry is another character that would be fun to add to MCP. I won’t get into all of his quirks here. But if he does show up, the Void should be hot on his heels. Maybe between him and another family in Marvel showing up on the big screen we’ll get them both (the Sentry and the Void) in MCP!

Captain America: Brave New World

This trailer shows off two characters that I’d really like to see added to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Well, more than two…but these are the main two I’d like:

  • Red Hulk
  • Isaiah Bradley

First up, I feel like Red Hulk doesn’t need much of an introduction here. He’s like the Hulk, but Red. His powers are also a little different…but in a good way. I actually think he could be transposed to the tabletop in some neat ways. Plus we’d could get a really cool Red Hulk miniature out of it, too.

Isaiah Bradley, Marvel Comics

Isaiah Bradley however probably needs a bit more of an explainer. If you’ve seen the MCU TV shows you might have an idea about him as well. But his origins are from the comics. The short version from the comics is that he and two battalions of troops got used as clinical tests for a different version of the super solider serum post-Steve Rogers. Because the formula was off, most of the men that were used as test subjects died. Only seven of them survived and Isaiah Bradley was one of them.

What happens next is pretty messed up. And I won’t get into all of it here because you should read it for yourself. The series is called Truth: Red, White & Black. I recommend it even if it’s subject matter is uncomfortable at times. And you should feel uncomfortable reading it. That’s kind of the point.

Anyhow, this movie also has quite a few other characters that I’m excited to see on the big screen. I’m also hoping we see them added to the tabletop in MCP later, too. I’m also hoping we get an updated version of Sam Wilson, Captain America after this movie comes out. I know it’s a long shot but it would be really cool!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

This trailer just dropped today. Obviously we want all four members of the Fantastic Four added to the tabletop in MCP.

  • Reed Richards
  • Sue Storm
  • Johnny Storm
  • Ben Grimm

Again, I don’t think they really need an introduction here. This won’t even be the first time we’ve seen them in the movies! But, if you watched the trailer, then you know there’s another looming threat that I hope we get on the tabletop one day…

You know what. I’m not even going to post an image of them here just in the off chance someone is scrolling through and didn’t watch the trailer. I’m not even going to say their name. Let’s just say they cast a VERY big shadow. If we ever do get them in MCP I REALLY want them to have a custom scenario to run. And it should be WILD.

Side note, YO – Marvel Rivals! When are you gonna add The Thing and Johnny Storm to the game? We aren’t quite at the half-way point of Season 1 but I was really hoping to have them in the game, too.

There’s a more MCU coming this year. What characters do you hope they port over to MCP?
