Star Wars: Legion – Outer Rim Terrain Set

Atomic Mass Games has introduced a new set of terrain for Star Wars: Legion. The Outer Rim Terrain provides new thematic battlefield terrain to fight over. They sent us a review copy and I busted out the contents to check out with you all today.

I wanted to start of by saying the box art is a little misleading. There’s actually a lot more “walls” in here than what it looks like over the cover.
This picture is more accurate to what’s actually in the set. I was a little surprised as well when I actually opened the contents. But we’ll get to that. Inside the box was your pretty typical packaging for Star Wars: Legion/Atomic Mass Games boxes:
You’ve got the sprues in a plastic back as well as the standard flyer with the QR code that takes you to assembly. But really, the assembly here is pretty simple. most of the pieces you can just clip out and you’re ready to prime/paint.
The only real “assembly” is the ruined building corner. You only get the one sprue of that. But that sprue does have the destroyed grate and some other half buried boxes, too.
As you can see, the wall sections are basically done. You just have to clip and clean those. You might want to glue one of the curved sections to a straight section just for stability, but those straight walls will stand on there own.
Again, I’m not entirely sure why the front box art short-changed what’s actually in the kit. The back of the box actually shows everything. There’s even two of the little droids included! I dunno if I’d count them as terrain…but still.
While I do like this set and think that it’s a fine addition to the Star Wars: Legion line I also feel like it’s missing something. Maybe that’s just my own perception. I feel like Star Wars: Legion is lacking terrain in general. I know there’s loads of third-party options out there. Heck, I’ve play on some of them!
There was the crashed X-Wing a while back. But I never really saw any terrain big kits or other official terrain sets. So maybe this might a first step into more Star Wars: Legion terrain sets for the future. It would be nice if there was a couple companion sets with this kit to round out a themed table. That’s all I’m saying.
