Warhammer 40K: Codex: Emperor’s Children Top 5 Enhancements
Goatboy here looking at the new Warhammer 40K Emperor’s Children Codex. Let’s dive into the book’s most powerful Enhancements.
While I still think Codex Emperor’s Children is a hard book to get working there are some powerful Enhancements in the book you will want to take and build your army around. It could just be things to make your Flying Daemon Prince a true boss of the tabletop or other options to ensure you have an unkillable Land Raider. Let’s dive on in as I list the one I like the most.
Mercurial Host – Loathsome Dexterity
An Emperor’s Children Model is able to move thru Enemy models when it makes a normal move, advance, or fallback move. It cannot end the moment within Engagement range of any enemy models. This seems like a powerful option to just let your Daemon Prince go hog wild after getting mixed and wrecking the enemy.
Peerless Bladesmen – Distortion
This is a simple option that gives the Emperor’s Children model a +1 attack and a +1 to their damage characteristic. A Winged Daemon Prince coming in with flat 4 damage as well as doing mortal wounds on the charge with Sustain Hits 1 seems like a powerful option.
Rapid Evisceration – Heretek Adept
Beyond just spelling things weird this upgraded lets the bearer blank a damage on a failed saving throw for an Emperor’s Children vehicle within 6”. This can let you get a Land Raider that just lives a long time or even keep a Mauler Fiend running around.
Carnival of Excess – Possessed Blade
An Emperor’s Children model gets a +1 attack to one melee weapon and they can activate it to get +1 damage, Devastating Wounds, and Hazardous on that weapon. The more damage you can do the better and having your Daemon Prince get Empowered by a friend daemon nearby with more attacks is amazing.
Coterie of the Conceited – Pledge of Unholy Fortune
A pretty simple one that lets the model change a dice roll to a 6 once per turn as long as they are not battle shocked. It treats it as an Unmodified 6 which can activate other things too if needed.
