Marvel: The Only Ship To Hold Reed Richards AND Superman (Yes, That One) – The Galactus Worldship Breakdown

Galactus’ Worldship has hosted some of the most powerful figures in the multiverse, including a rare canonical appearance of Superman.
It sounds like the start of a joke: a Kryptonian and a Super Genius from Earth-616 walk into a Worldship. And yet, it really happened. Reed Richards and the Last Son of Krypton were once aboard Galactus’ mighty Worldship, where the Planet Devourer had beckoned Kal-El to become his new Herald.
But that’s only a taste of just how legendary this ship is. Known as the Taa II, the ship is named for a world—and a universe—that no longer exists. Born out of the remnants of a dead world, and christened as a monument to those Galactus left behind, the Worldship is a vast store of advanced technology, almost beyond imagining.
The Worldship of Galactus – Design and Capabilities
The Taa II Worldship is immense beyond most reckoning. It dwarfs whole worlds with its massive mobius-strip construction. But it is more than just immense. It is also a potent source of energy. According to most instrumentations, the Worldship is the single greatest source of Energy within all of Eternity. That is to say, it contains power enough to enable Galactus to use the Power Cosmic, should he so need it. Though often he prefers to find other sources for that power.
It is also advanced beyond mortal comprehension. Even immortal comprehension, in some cases. Reed Richards himself provedt o be incapable of fathoming the full scope of the ship the few times he managed to be aboard.
Part of what makes it so mysterious is the nature of its construction. It was built of the ruins of the world Archeopia—the first world that Galactus consumed after wakingup from his cosmic slumber just before the Big Bang. After devouring the energy of that world in his hunger, Galactus used its raw material to build himself a new homeworld. Over the course of millennia, the ship gradually took its shape.
Its systems have never been fully catalogued by any, save Galactus, so its weapons and armor are unknown. The Worldship is home to Galactus’ personal defenders, the machine/organic hybrid creatures known as Punishers, who serve to protect Galactus when he is weakened or otherwise occupied and unable or unwilling to defend himself.
The Worldship – A Brief History of the Universe
After the Worldship was hewn from the remains of Archeopia, Galactus used it to travel the worlds and do battle with the Proemial gods of the infant universe. Galactus faced off with a malevolent faction led by Diableri of Chaos, and emerged victorious, killing Diableri and imprisoning three of the others.
Later, Galactus and the Worldship were present when he created life and began traversing the cosmos in search of more planets to feed on. He came upon the planet of Zenn-la and there met Norrin Radd, better known as the Silver Surfer. Radd would lead Galactus to Earth, where he met four of its mightiest heroes, the Fanastic Four.
While battling with the quartet, the Watcher Uatu broke a solemn vow and interfered, revealing to the Human Torch the existence of a potent weapon aboard the Taa II: the Ultimate Nullifier. It is the only weapon known to inspire fear in the cosmic devourer. Naturally no problems have ever arisen from it being in the hands of people on Earth instead of in Galactus’ Worldship. Right? Right?
The rest, as they say, is history!
